The Media/Print/Broadcast Award is given for promotion and
support of reading. This is one of three awards that are
given to individuals who have made contributions to promote
the importance of reading within the state. The recipient of
this award may be an individual whose name has been submitted
by a local council as Newspaper in Education winner.
Nominations must be submitted to the Publicity and
Publications Chairperson by March 1.

This award is given to legislators who are working to
promote education. By July 15, councils
or individuals should submit the Legislative
Chairperson names of legislators who meet the criterion with a
description of how they are supporting and promoting reading education. The recipient is recognized at the FRA Annual
Conference.

FRA sponsors a program to encourage an interest in
contemporary literature by pre-kindergarten through second
grade students. This is one of three awards that are given to
individuals who have made contributions to promote the
importance of reading within the state. The winning book is
determined by votes of students who have heard the
eight nominated
books. The winning author is honored at the Annual FRA
Conference.
